Retrospection

The mind is the birthplace of philosopy of life. The mind often sets out on a journey undestined. The path is uncharted. The time is not stamped. Very often the past reawakens in the deserted corners of the mind. The triggering factor may be an event, a thought, an object or a person or ... who knows what? Retrospection is the privilege of a human mind. Probably in some moments of purposeful, intellectual retrospection, a philosophy of life begins to crystallize.

Rainy Season

Rainy season.

They say the rainy season has already set in.

Where is the rain in my city?

Over the last few days, we witnessed heavy down-pour.

Water-logged streets. The city flooded with water.

But where is the rainy season of yesteryears?

Where is the cool wind that used to annunciate the arrival of the rains?

Where is the fascinating fragrance of the first rains?

Where is the refreshing freshness of the season?

Where is the lush, green bed of grass and weeds that would crop up along the roads?

Oh! Rainy Season! Rediscover your identity!

Good narrative. But I have an honest reservation. Musing in past- those good old days is OK with everybody. But another way of musing is to live this moment powerfully.
Those days may not, and will not return. But it is for us to make this moment full of joy. That imaginary 'It' may not come in our life. But this is 'It'.
When I learnt this technique of accepting this moment, the way it is- I was a different person. It was in '96 in Ahd, and by an American System of self development.
